1, 2, 3...plie' !
Grand-plie’, pirouette, arabesque… You may have heard these French terms or danced these movements before, but do you know their origins? To understand the history of ballet, join us on this journey through the centuries: from the court of the Sun King, Louis XIV of France, where classical ballet bloomed; to the ballerinas daringly painted by Degas in the 19th century; to the striking and provocative innovation brought by choreographer Nijinsky on the stages of the early 20th century; up to today's contemporary dance landscape. This jeté through time and space is guaranteed to make you fall in love with tutus, ballet shoes and dance!
